5 Tips to Save Yourself from Aadhaar Fraud

1. Do Not Share Aadhaar Details, OTP

Keep your Aadhaar information confidential and do not share it indiscriminately. Be cautious about sharing Aadhaar details, especially the Aadhaar number and OTP (One-Time Password). 

2. Locking Aadhaar 

Use the security features provided by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), such as Aadhaar Locking and Biometric Locking. 

3. Avoid Sharing Details on Calls

Avoid responding to unsolicited calls or messages asking for Aadhaar details. UIDAI never asks for OTP by calls, messages, or emails. Double-check the authenticity of any communication 

4. Aadhaar History 

Keep a close eye on your Aadhaar-linked transactions and regularly review your bank statements and transaction history. 

5. Do Not Share Details on Social Media 

Do not share your Aadhaar information on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram or X. Ensure that the organisation you are sharing the details with when needed is authorised.
