Ensure your workstation is set up correctly. Your chair should support your lower back, and your feet should be flat on the floor or on a footrest. Adjust the monitor’s height so your eyes align with the top third of the screen when looking straight ahead.
Sit all the way back in your chair, keeping your back straight, and your shoulders relaxed. Distribute your weight evenly on both hips and avoid crossing your legs, which can strain your back.
Consider using a lumbar roll or a cushion to support the natural curve of your lower back. This can help maintain proper alignment and reduce strain on your spine.
Avoid prolonged sitting by taking breaks every 30–60 minutes. Stand up, stretch, or walk around to relieve pressure on your spine and muscles.
Be mindful of your devices. Hold your phone or tablet at eye level to avoid slouching forward. Adjust the keyboard and mouse so your arms form a 90-degree angle at the elbows, minimising strain on your shoulders and wrists.
Incorporate exercises and stretches into your routine to strengthen your core muscles and improve flexibility. Yoga, pilates, and regular stretching can help maintain good posture.
