A science fiction action film that won several awards, The Fifth Element was praised for its costumes, narrative scale and actors. Armageddon is a sci-fi, big-budget action movie of the highest order that combines a stellar cast with the maximalist direction of Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer. The film’s plot is around a bunch of NASA scientists who discover they have eighteen days before an asteroid the size of Texas impacts Earth, destroying all planetary life. Armageddon is an important piece of cinema, if not a universally loved one.
