1. Choose a Beginner-Friendly Summit

Start with a mountain that is suitable for beginners. Look for well-marked trails, moderate elevation gain, and a manageable distance.

2. Get the Right Gear

Invest in good quality gear, especially footwear. A comfortable pair of hiking boots with ankle support is crucial for stability on uneven terrain.

3. Train and Build Stamina

Mountain climbing requires physical fitness, so prepare your body for the challenge. Incorporate cardiovascular exercises like hiking, running, or cycling into your routine.

4. Understand Altitude Sickness

If you are climbing a mountain with significant elevation, be aware of altitude sickness. Acclimatise yourself to higher altitudes by spending a day or two at intermediate elevations.

5. Learn Basic Navigation Skills

Familiarise yourself with basic navigation skills to ensure you can find your way on the trail. Understand how to read a map and use a compass.
