CSK vs GT, IPL 2023 Final, Latest Updates: Match postponed to reserve day

Thanks for staying wit WION while there was rain that played spoilsport. We will comeback on the reserve day and with hopefully rain expected, fingers crossed as we sign off for the day. 

The match has been officially postponed and will take place on reserve day on Monday with Sunday's schedule. The wait continues for the fans and the players.

Fans are optimistic, but we are running out time for the match to start. An IPL final has never been washed out or has gone to reserve day, but there is always a first time for everything. 

The contest now moves into trimming territory as Overs will be trimmed as the clock has ticked for 9:35 PM IST.

Deja Vu, it's raining again as we now will have overs trimmed even if the rain stops at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

As things stand, wet outfield has delayed proceedings at the Narendra Modi Stadium while rain has stopped. 

As things stand, there will be no rain but if the rain does continue for another hour we will have over reduction.

Rain is still coming down heavily and there is forecast for tomorrow is as well. If there is no play today and tomorrow then GT and CSK will be declared joint winners. 

Rain had stopped in temporarily but yet again it is drizzling in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium. 

As things stand, the rain is coming down heavy with the opening ceremony canceled and fans now waiting for the showers to ease down. 

Just a reminder, the overs will only get trimmed once it is 9:40 PM IST, if the match starts before that e can still expect full 20 overs per side contest. 

The relevant teams will compete in a Super Over and, if necessary, additional Super Overs to determine which team will win the match. A 20-over match must be completed by 11.40 PM IST. The start time for a 5-over-per-side game is 12.06 AM.

However, if there is no play in the above scenario, a reserve day will be used on Monday to decide the winners of the IPL 2023. If rain again plays spoilsport, the above scenario will be repeated to decide the winner of the contest. However, if there is no play on either day, the IPL 2023 title will be shared by both GT and CSK and will be declared joint winners.

It has started raining in Ahmedabad as rain could play spoilsport in the contest. As things stand, there are thunderstorms as well with the opening ceremony now looking done and dusted.
