UFC 284 Highlights: Islam Makhachev defeats Alexander Volkanovksi by unanimous decision

The UFC 284: Islam Makhachev (Russia) remains the UFC Lightweight champion after he defeated Australia's Alexander Volkanovski via unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49-46). Makhachev is now also the No.1 Pound for Pound in the world. This was one of the biggest MMA fights of this year. Meanwhile, Yair Rodriguez (Mexico) was declared the interim UFC Featherweight champion after he defeated Josh Emmett by submission in the second round.

Makhachev, with his world-class wrestling skills, has pinned Volkanovksi to the ground as the Australian struggles to let go of his grip.
In the third round, Makhachev stumbled after a strong low kick from Volkanovski. The Russian clinched Volkanovski but the Australian drove him back to the fence and took him down.
Makhachev tripped after Volkanovski landed punches.

With the second round underway, Yair Rodriguez landed a beautiful question mark kick on Josh Emmett.
The battle for the interim Featherweight title is underway. Rodriguez starts the first round with a combination of kicks while Emmett blocks a head kick and lands a big right hand.
The next fight in UFC 284 is the co-main event between Yair Rodriguez (Mexico) and Josh Emmett (United States) for the interim featherweight title.

UFC 284 (Heavyweight bout): Justin Tafa defeated Parker Porter with a counter left hook.
The fight for the heavyweight division between Justin Tafa (Australia) and Parker Porter (United States in underway).
UFC 284 (Light-heavyweight division): The fight ended in a draw with spectacular performance by Jimmy Crute and Alonzo Menifield.
The Australian Crute marched forward and Menfield just misses with a counter left hook. Crute tried a double-leg takedown but Menifield stuffed it well.
The third and final round of Jimmy Crute vs Alonzo Menifield has started.
The second round of the heavyweight bout is over with a severely exhausted Jimmy Crute's take down attempt against Alonzo Menifield.
In round 2 of the heavyweight bout, Jimmy Crute- who is severely exhausted- landed a vicious knee on Alonzo Menifield.
Alonzo Menifield dominated the first round against Jimmy Crute with combination of jabs, left hooks and submissions.
