Who Funds The Budget Of The United Nations?

Every member of the United Nations is required to contribute to the organisation’s budget. These contributions fund administrative costs and peacekeeping operations. Many member countries also make voluntary contributions to specific UN programs

United States (27.89%)

The US remains the largest donor to the UN. It contributed more than $12 billion in 2021, accounting for just under one-fifth of funding for the body's collective budget, according to the figures shared by the global agency

China (15.21%)

In 2021, China paid 15 percent of the peacekeeping budget, making it the second-largest contributor behind the United States

Japan (8.56%)

Next to China is Japan, which is the third largest contributor to the UN’s budget

Germany (6.09%)

German was the fourth-largest contributor

United Kingdom  (5.79%)

And the United Kingdom was the fifth-largest contributor.

India (0.8 %)

India, on the other hand, contributes 0.8 per cent of the UN’s budget. But it is the second-largest largest troop contributor to the UN Peacekeeping Missions
